guest bloggers: Amiebelle & Sparkle Fashion

I hope everyone is enjoying our round of guest bloggers the last couple days! We have a couple more awesome ladies to feature and I will be back this week!:) I might just do a post tomorrow depending on what happens! Anyway, I am lucky enough to feature 2 lovely ladies today! Amie is just starting out on her fashion blog journey, and the girls over at Sparkle Fashion have a well established blog, but both of them have their own fun and unique style, and I am excited to have them today! Please welcome them and check out their blogs!

Hi Everyone! My name is Amie, and my blog is AmieBelle! I am honored and excited that Morgan has asked me to write a guest post for her today!

Being that fall weather is likely still a long way off here in California, I'm struggling with my autumnal urges to dive into my scarf collection! I'm a big believer in having a versatile enough wardrobe that can be mixed, matched, and layered for any season. Having the ability to take a summery item, add a few layers, and ultimately wear it well into the winter months, makes the item all the more worth it!

For this outfit, I paired my LOFT v-neck purple dress, with a LOFT black dollman sweater, and added a pair of Kohls Candies ankle boots. Truthfully, I'm hoping this heat wave will end soon so I can wear my real boots again! Please?

To see more of me, my life, and my style, please head over to my blog! Thank you Morgan! I hope you're enjoying your trip!

Love Amie x

Next up...Sparkle Fashion!

Hi guys! I'm one of the girls from Sparkle Fashion Blog and I am here to show you mine fave outfits. When Morgan said choose only 3 i didn't knew it would be so hard . I mean, can girl have only 3 fave outfits? Exactly! ;) But back to business, here are mine fave outfits.
#1- Because  I  love long skirts!

#2- Cute dress with boots. Perfect for this period when it's not so cold or warm.
#3- Because I love this polka dot top! Yes, I'm potty for dotty :))

And green and red go so well together. Don't you think so?!
Well, that is all from me. And if you want to see more find me at my  sparkly fashion corner. Thanks again to lovely Morgan for this cool feature! xo

Guest blogger: Jamie from Stylin' Mommies

So today I am VERY excited about this guest blogger! She is a gorgeous mommy and I love her style! I hope that you love her too!

Hi, I'm Jamie from stylinmommies.com. I'm so happy to be doing a guest post for The Dime Diary. The reason I started my blog was because after I had my first child I kinda felt like I lost myself....I figured that after you became a mom you just let yourself go. It took me a few years to realize that I could still enjoy clothes and fashion like I did before I had kids. My kids are definitely my main focus but I make sure that I set aside a little time for me.

I love putting outfits together and shopping....what girl doesn't!:) I still try to keep it simple though with flats and easy clothing to wear around the kids. I do love scarves and colored pants. Through this experience I now know that I'm a better mommy if I take care of mommy too.
Shirt: Forever 21|Scarf: H&M|Pants: Bohme|Belt: Target|Shoes: OASAP

Thank you so much for being with us today Jamie! Make sure to check out here blog HERE if you haven't already! Also don't forget to enter the giveaway if you haven't yet! Click HERE to see it. Happy weekend everyone!

Guest Blogger: Sasha from Moiology

Today is our first guest blogger! Her name is Sasha from the blog Moiology

top: h&m  |  pants: target  |  heels: j.crew  |  bag: bally   | necklace: max & chloe, alice lance  |  sunglasses: karen walker  |  bracelets: j.crew, nordstrom, forever21  |  watch: michael kors

The military trend has steadily survived from season to season with nothing more than simple tweaks along the way. This Fall in particular, we're seeing all camouflage everything: a not-so-subtle nod to army influences that always manage to look edgy, sophisticated, or feminine, depending on your styling choices.

I paired my camouflage pants with liquid metallic top to add different tone and texture to the outfit. Then mixed in some classic nude leather pumps with a bow to add a little feminine touch to it.

Thank you for visiting us today Sasha! I love your style!

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @morgansallen to keep up with my visit to Colorado!

Guest Posting!

Hey guys! So I'm heading out to Colorado on Wednesday to visit my family, and I'm extremely excited! I always love a visit to my favorite state, and not to mention see my amazing parents and sisters. I really can't wait! With that being said, I know I'm going to be pretty busy while I am there, and won't be able to update too much. I'm really going to try, but I'm looking for a couple awesome blogging ladies to fill my spot while I'm gone!!!

I am looking for about 3-4 girls, and the theme will be "your favorite outfit!" So if you are interested please send a picture of you in your favorite outfit and a link to your blog to thedimediary@yahoo.com no later than Tuesday evening and you might be guest posting here this/next week! This is a great opportunity to get some traffic/exposure to your blog free of charge:) I'm excited to see what you've got!

In other news, the giveaway I planned to put up yesterday, I decided to wait till Wednesday (the day I leave) to put it up. That way it will be over just in time for me to get home! So I will for sure be posting it on Wednesday.

So today was a pretty lazy day for us, Scott got some studying/homework done (I'm so proud of that hardworking boy), and I did some client organizing for work. Then this afternoon we headed over to the Riverwoods to see Chalk the Block! It officially ended yesterday, so none of the artists were there today, but it was still really cool to see all the artwork! Some of it was really amazing! Here are a few of my favorites and some pics of us hanging out:

these are few of my favorite things...and the giveaway winner

First things first! One lucky girl was randomly chosen by Rafflecopter to win the Amber necklace from Linz Gutz Jewelz! Here she is!

Congrats Amie!!! Please email me within 24 hours to redeem it! Thank you to everyone who participated, and don't be discouraged that you didn't win this time, I have yet ANOTHER awesome giveaway I will be posting tomorrow from our awesome friends at Gentry again! Stay tuned!

In the meantime I wanted to share some of my favorite products as of late. Hopefully you fall as madly in love with them as I am.

1. Skinceuticals- LHA Cleansing Gel, Micro-exfoliating scrub, LHA Solution(Toner), and Blemish and Age Defense

So since I started working for Elase I have turned into somewhat of a skincare snob. I have always taken pretty good care of my skin...ok that's a lie. When I was in college I would stay out super late, sleep in my makeup, not wash it off in the morning, and then reapply more when I woke up...and honestly my skin was freaking awesome. I hardly ever broke out. But then I heard that not washing your makeup off at night will cause you to age faster, so I started washing off all my makeup at night about 5 years ago, and all hell broke loose. You know how they say to 10 year olds "don't start wearing makeup too soon! It will cause you to break out and then you can never NOT wear it!" Well the same thing happened here. Washing my face was my "makeup to the 10 year old" if you will. Ironic huh? Well anyway, since working at Elase I have been introduced to the finest of fine, the caviar of skincare, and I am loving.every.bit. Truth be told, this little system here will cause quite the dent in your pocket, but with the results I am having, they can charge me whatever they want for this liquid gold.
It is a little stressful on the skin right off, but you start to get used to it, and after about a week, your skin looks smooth as a baby's bottom. You are welcome to stroll into your local Elase and check these treasures out. Your welcome.

2. TIGI Catwalk Salt Spray
So my dear neighbor Katey introduced me to this sweet little lady. I am always on the hunt for a good volumizing hair product, and after finding out I was allergic to Paul Mitchell products, I have been a little on the leery side about putting too much in my hair. But the other day while we were hanging out I noticed that her hair looked especially bouncy and full. I asked her the magic secret and she pulled out this, and she sent me home with it to try out myself. SWOON. If the smell doesn't make you just want to wear it as a perfume regardless of what it does for hair, then you are not my friend. It is probably the best smelling hair product I have ever had the pleasure of smelling. Now on to what it does. I spray a little in wet hair before I blow dry, and then after it is dry I spray some on the ends and through the middle. It adds a little texture and definitely some height. Now, but careful not to overdue it, which can happen really easy with this product. Think of it like hair oil...less is more. Otherwise your hair is dirty and build-upy by day 2. Not cute, but done right, this is the stuff luscious hair is made of. I picked this up at Ulta!

3. MAC Nymphette Lipglass
The other day I took a day trip down to Nordstrom with my besets friend Ashley, where we both got some new lip glosses. I got Nymphette. Sure it is significantly smaller than its other MAC lipgloss counterparts, but I think it makes up for that in the beauty of the color! It is a really gorgeous rosey pink with gold in it. I think the color is pretty unique and I have enjoyed using it so far. It is definitely one I will keep using, and one I think you should try! Fun fact: My husband refuses to kiss my with lipgloss. He thinks the stickiness is disgusting and thinks that all lipgloss is of the devil. Silly Scotty! Don't you realize that lipgloss on my kisser is what drew you in the first time. Duh!

Have an awesome Friday night y'all!

frogs and snails and puppy dog tails

About 2 weeks ago my best friend Ashley had her baby shower and discovered that she was having a little BOY! They had the ultrasound done and then gave the gender of the baby to a baker who baked the color of the sex into the cake. I was extremely excited because I had a feeling it was a boy! Well that was kind of confirmed by all the wives-tales we did, which all said it was a boy:) So I guess that helped form my opinion a little.

Ashley had been sick since the beginning of her pregnancy with Hyperemesis Gravidarum and she suffering so badly to point where she could barely function. She was visiting the hospital weekly to get IV's to keep her hydrated, and it was SO sad and SO scary! During those weeks poor little Ash was too sick to leave her house, and the only times we got to do anything was when I came to visit her. She was miserable. But finally she started feeling a lot better from her medicine and I was so happy! She still has to battle nausea everyday, but I am so extremely grateful that she is feeling better and most of all that she has an adorable little Beckham in her belly! I can't to snuggle that little bean.

Maybe I need another? nah.
P.S. look at the little lulu's face. She absolutely kills me. Oh and don't forget!!! The Linz Gutz Jewelz giveaway ends tonight!!! Make sure you enter if you haven't yet! Click here

the daily dish

Happy monday everyone! I had my spot on The Daily Dish this morning and it went so wonderful, even better than I could have hoped! You can watch the segment right here:
The women were so sweet and so friendly, and I had an absolute blast! Scott was able to come with me this morning and he brought little boo boo, who happened to be the star of the show today. Everyone was oohing and awing over her, but I'm not surprised haha that monkey is da bes baby ever.

I really enjoyed my time there today. It was a little nerve-wracking, but by the time it was over and my stomach was still kind of jittery I decided it was more just hunger than anything else, so what did we do? We topped off our successful morning with a victory breakfast at Mimi's Cafe.

DELICIOUS, and you know it!

And in case anyone is wondering, I'm wearing my dress from Francesca's that I featured on Look For Less a couple weeks ago!
Have a great night ya'll!

proud momma moment!

So lately little Av has been standing on her own, and I'm not talking along furniture or anything, she has been standing all by herself! That is why it was so awesome to watch her walk all by herself today!

She will be 10 months old in a few days and I honestly couldn't be prouder. I am heading to visit my parents in Colorado next week and I have been hoping that she would be walking a bit by then. Looks like she might be!

In other news I have my spot on The Daily Dish tomorrow at 9 am! For those who want to watch it will be on CW30, so that is channel 15 for those of you in Utah! I'm hoping to have a clip of the segment to put on the blog though. So tomorrow Scott and I will head down to the ABC4 station in Salt Lake to do the live taping! I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, I definitely am, I am just crossing my fingers that I don't say anything dumb or start rambling/stuttering. Wish me luck!

Don't forget! If you haven't entered the Linz Gutz Jewelz Giveaway, make sure to do it now before it ends on Wednesday! Click HERE to see it.

Oh, and I hadn't noticed that my Instagram button wasn't on the page since I got my new design! Follow me on Instagram @morgansallen :)

Linz Gutz Jewelz giveaway!

So to start off with, I have some semi-exciting news! Momma bear is a workin' woman again! And by momma bear, I mean me. I recently got hired as the Sales Director at Elase Medical Spa of Orem. I am SO extremely excited to be working there. The hours are part time, so I still get to spend lots of time with baby girl, and the women there are awesome! I have been learning so much about medical esthetics and have been really enjoying everyone I am working with. Best of all I am just really happy to get out of the house and feel like I am doing something for me again, and something that helps me spend some time outside the home and associate with the outside world. I have never not worked. Until the week before I had Ava I worked, and as far as I'm concerned, unless you have children or a child at home, you SHOULD be working. There is no reason not to, and now that I have spent a good chunk of time at home with my little bug during her first months of life, I am ready to get back to the grind:) I have been so busy this week trying to figure out how to balance everything, but it's SO refreshing.
Top: J Crew Factory( HERE $20.99)|Jeans: H&M($24.99)|Boots: Charlotte Russe(old, but I'm loving THESE ones|Necklace:c/o Linz Gutz Jewelz (HERE)

The arm party possibilities are endless! I promise, you will want to buy everything...or maybe that is a bad thing. Anyway, I am wearing my Amber Necklace in these pictures and I have worn it several times already in the last 2 days! I've work it to work and it pairs perfectly with all my business wear, and I have worn it to dress up my casual outfits. It is perfect with everything and I honestly can't say enough good about this necklace, and now you too can have your own Amber necklace to add to your closet!

I am using Rafflecopter just like last time, so just follow the simple instructions! 10 entires possible but the only one that is required is that you are a PUBLIC follower on GFC! easiest top knot in the world & a pinterest fail

Happy monday everyone! First of all I had to share, I got glasses on Saturday! It was a a long appointment, it was kind of overwhelming, and it was very expensive. VERY VERY expensive. In the end I found out that I have astigmatism in both my eyes, and now get to sport these lovely pair of glasses right here. It is getting hard to wear them consistently though. I have always used readers here and there but this prescription although makes everything so much sharper and clear, it also makes my eyes hurt and makes me nauseous after a while. Im sure it will be a while before I get used to them.
(p.s. my hair in this picture is what I call the "lazy person top knot" you'll see it in the video.)

Also I tried a new skin regimen I found on Pinterest the other night. It was called Dr. Oz's miracle skin remedy. Here is the following directions:

You Will Need:
1. At least 6 non-coated aspirin pills
2. A fresh lemon
3. 3 heaping tablespoons of baking soda

Step One: Dissolve the non-coasted aspirin in a small dish with the juice of a fresh lemon. You may only need half of the lemon to get the right amount of juice, measure by sight until you have a healthy paste.

Step Two: Use the paste as a mask, applying in a gentle circular motion.

Step Three: Leave the paste on your face for 10 minutes.

Step Four: Wash off with a wet cotton ball dipped in baking soda. Finish with a water rinse and pat dry with a clean towel.

So let me tell you about my experience with this...First of all, I had no aspirin. I don't keep any in my house because I think it sucks. I find it to be a sissy pain killer and therefor don't care less to buy any. So I ended up using the next best thing, Ibuprofen. Just kidding, I have no idea if ibuprofen and aspirin are even similar, but they were both white and both painkillers, so you do the math.

Next I put in WAAAAAAAY too much lemon juice. It made for a very soupy paste, that ended up not being very even, which was magnified by the fact that I didn't realize how long it would take those dang pills to dissolve!!! 30 minutes later and they were still holding on...so I got antsy and spread what was dissolved on my face.

*note to self. This stuff burns. It kinda burns like ummmm citrus? It's almost like I put fresh lemon juice all over my face. Oh, wait. Anyway that was not the worst part though. 10 minutes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians later and it was time to wash it off with what is best described as a "wet cotton ball dipped in baking soda." Now my friends, if you are ever curious as to what having, lets say, acid thrown on your face feels like, this is probably the closest thing. It burns like a mother. I was fairly certain some of my skin was about to peel off. I actually thought something might be wrong.

Turns out my skin did not fall off and I went to bed with an extremely tight and dry face, that in the morning didn't look one bit different that it usually does. So ladies, with that in mind, unless you want to feel like your face was just dipped in battery acid just out of sheer curiosity, I would say skip this, because it was kind of was a Pinterest fail.

Now without further adieu, the real star of the show, THE EASIEST TOP KNOT IN THE WORLD!!! and it will look like this:
and I'm speaking of the first one, not the second one. In fact I hate the second one. Just letting you know now. Also you probably can just skip ahead to 3:13 unless you want to hear me gabber about my wispy baby hairs. Oh and if you do skip ahead, the bun maker thing in the video I use is from Sally's and its like $4.00. Oh and also, please don't make fun of me. I have never made a tutorial of me talking, so I kinda carry on and get sidetracked a lot. Bare with me. Let me know if you have any questions!!!

Oh and p.s. I have a new sponsor coming this week! Her giveaway will be very exciting! I think I will have 2 giveaways coming this week from 2 different sponsors, so stay tuned!

Family pictures outfit

Happy friday everyone!!! I'm so excited that the weekend is finally here! We have a pretty full next couple days coming up. Especially since we are showing our condo to people to take over! YUP! We are officially moving! We originally planned to move up to Salt Lake City, but after looking at the housing market and really weighing whether or not it is worth it to move all the way up there, we decided to stay in the area we are in, but we are moving to a new condo in mid October, and it is AWESOME. I'll have to post pictures once we move in:)

In the meantime I have family photos coming up soon with the gorgeous Amber from Amber Lynn Photography! I have been trying to find an outfit that I really liked, and I knew I wanted to wear a dress. It wasn't till I found this dress at Forever 21 that I knew this was the one I wanted! Isn't is classy??? I'm obsessed, and best of all it is only $22.80! Such a steal for what really looks like a much more expensive dress! They have this dress in tan and in black, but I decided to keep it light for the pictures and opted for the tan. I can't wait to get our pics done! Unfortunately I can't find a link for the dress online...I think it might be sold out, but there is a chance it's still in stores!
Dress w/belt: Forever 21($22.80)|Cardigan: Target($20)|Necklace: Ebay($14)|Bracelets: Forever 21(all under$10)|Shoes: Charlotte Russe($14.99)

Also I haven't heard back from Amber our Gentry necklace winner yet. So I have decided to implement a new giveaway rule! For future giveaways, all gifts MUST be redeemed within 24 hours of winning. Meaning if you win, you must email me within 24 hours to still be able to participate and get your gift, otherwise I will randomly select a new backup winner! Sorry, not trying to be harsh, but with so many entries on giveaways lately, there are many other people who would like to win the giveaway, that I don't have the time to wait for response! Hope everyone understands:) With that being said, I will wait till tonight and if no response, I will have a NEW Gentry necklace winner tomorrow morning! Stay tuned!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!
