easiest top knot in the world & a pinterest fail

Happy monday everyone! First of all I had to share, I got glasses on Saturday! It was a a long appointment, it was kind of overwhelming, and it was very expensive. VERY VERY expensive. In the end I found out that I have astigmatism in both my eyes, and now get to sport these lovely pair of glasses right here. It is getting hard to wear them consistently though. I have always used readers here and there but this prescription although makes everything so much sharper and clear, it also makes my eyes hurt and makes me nauseous after a while. Im sure it will be a while before I get used to them.
(p.s. my hair in this picture is what I call the "lazy person top knot" you'll see it in the video.)

Also I tried a new skin regimen I found on Pinterest the other night. It was called Dr. Oz's miracle skin remedy. Here is the following directions:

You Will Need:
1. At least 6 non-coated aspirin pills
2. A fresh lemon
3. 3 heaping tablespoons of baking soda

Step One: Dissolve the non-coasted aspirin in a small dish with the juice of a fresh lemon. You may only need half of the lemon to get the right amount of juice, measure by sight until you have a healthy paste.

Step Two: Use the paste as a mask, applying in a gentle circular motion.

Step Three: Leave the paste on your face for 10 minutes.

Step Four: Wash off with a wet cotton ball dipped in baking soda. Finish with a water rinse and pat dry with a clean towel.

So let me tell you about my experience with this...First of all, I had no aspirin. I don't keep any in my house because I think it sucks. I find it to be a sissy pain killer and therefor don't care less to buy any. So I ended up using the next best thing, Ibuprofen. Just kidding, I have no idea if ibuprofen and aspirin are even similar, but they were both white and both painkillers, so you do the math.

Next I put in WAAAAAAAY too much lemon juice. It made for a very soupy paste, that ended up not being very even, which was magnified by the fact that I didn't realize how long it would take those dang pills to dissolve!!! 30 minutes later and they were still holding on...so I got antsy and spread what was dissolved on my face.

*note to self. This stuff burns. It kinda burns like ummmm citrus? It's almost like I put fresh lemon juice all over my face. Oh, wait. Anyway that was not the worst part though. 10 minutes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians later and it was time to wash it off with what is best described as a "wet cotton ball dipped in baking soda." Now my friends, if you are ever curious as to what having, lets say, acid thrown on your face feels like, this is probably the closest thing. It burns like a mother. I was fairly certain some of my skin was about to peel off. I actually thought something might be wrong.

Turns out my skin did not fall off and I went to bed with an extremely tight and dry face, that in the morning didn't look one bit different that it usually does. So ladies, with that in mind, unless you want to feel like your face was just dipped in battery acid just out of sheer curiosity, I would say skip this, because it was kind of was a Pinterest fail.

Now without further adieu, the real star of the show, THE EASIEST TOP KNOT IN THE WORLD!!! and it will look like this:
and I'm speaking of the first one, not the second one. In fact I hate the second one. Just letting you know now. Also you probably can just skip ahead to 3:13 unless you want to hear me gabber about my wispy baby hairs. Oh and if you do skip ahead, the bun maker thing in the video I use is from Sally's and its like $4.00. Oh and also, please don't make fun of me. I have never made a tutorial of me talking, so I kinda carry on and get sidetracked a lot. Bare with me. Let me know if you have any questions!!!

Oh and p.s. I have a new sponsor coming this week! Her giveaway will be very exciting! I think I will have 2 giveaways coming this week from 2 different sponsors, so stay tuned!

  1. I tried to leave a comment last night, but it never works from my phone!

You're adorable! You have such a great personality, both in writing and in person; at least in your video. It made me want to go and get one of the "bun makers" asap. I usually just twist my hair, cross my fingers, and hope it stays. Yesterday, it did not.

Thanks for such a great blog! I look forward to your posts daily!
