Psssst....I'm pregnant!

So the secret is out! I am pregnant again! I am due on 7/7/2014. Hopefully you will forgive me for my lack of posting, I am definitely in that awkward stage where it's not super obvious I am pregnant, but my tummy is not flat. Definitely not flattering for photos and definitely don't want to leave anyone guessing on if I have a food baby or a real baby in my outfits:) If this time is anything like last time I am going to be lazy as crap, but hopefully I can pull together some cute maternity outfits for you!

Here is a little info about this pregnancy:

How far along are you?
I am almost 10 and a half weeks! The same number of weeks I was when I announced Ava!

How have you been feeling?
I have been doing surprisingly well this time around! With Ava I was SO sick with morning sickness. I started throwing up week 6 to 14 with Ava and couldn't even leave my house without my trusty Zofran. I kept waiting for the sickness to kick in and it never really did! I have only had 3 or 4 days in the last 10 weeks that I actually have felt sick, but they only last a day and are gone. I have only thrown up on like 3 days. Every other day I have been fine, just very tired. I have to take a nap every single day, and of course my boobs hurt. So that too haha

Was it planned?
I have already gotten this question a few times, but a big fat HECK TO THE NO! I thought about having another baby maybe at the beginning of the year, timing just seemed right then, Ava would be almost 3 by the time the baby was born and I thought I would get more in shape before I got pregnant again. Turns out one night of not being careful and BAM! I'm pregnant. If I had my way I wouldn't be having a baby in July, that sounds like misery, but at least it will be warm outside and I can take my new babe outside a lot!

How did you find out?
Well after the "incident" I would call it, I was pretty concerned but felt like it was a long shot because it was just once. Well literally days after my boob started hurting and there was a pit in my stomach. I just knew it. Then I started getting so tired I could barely keep my eyes open. 5 days before my period I decided to just buy a test and see cause I was so overwhelmed. I couldn't even look at first but then I saw a little faint line and I just knew. I just kept saying "holy crap. holy crap" over and over. I also took 3 more tests cause I still thought it could be wrong.

How did you tell Scott?
I wish I could say I crafted up some adorable way to surprise him but I didn't. Literally right after I took the first test I paced around the bathroom for 5 minutes. I finally went out to the family room where Scott was doing his homework. I sat down and just stared at him (probably like a creeper) and finally said "I need to tell you something, but I don't want you to be mad." Then I burst into tears. Yeah it was a very joyus moment obviously. I then told him I think I "might" be pregnant, and he replied with "which means you are." He then asked me why I though he would be mad and told me he thought it was great. Needless to say, he made me feel a lot better:)

Do you think it is a boy or girl?
Both Scott and I are almost certain it is a boy this time. I just have not felt once it was a girl, and also I have barely been sick at all. My sister had a boy and a girl too and she was sick with her girl and not her boy, and I heard morning sickness patterns run in the family, so that is what I am going by. If it isn't a boy I will be shocked beyond belief and realize that my intuition is crap! We find out in 5 weeks what it is!

How has Ava been handling it?
Ava has been doing really well so far, but I don't know that she fully understands what is happening. If we ask her where the baby is, she will lift up my shirt and point to my stomach, so that is super cute, but she has been extremely clingy lately. She just wants us to hold her constantly and carry her. She even wants to sleep in our bed with us. I hope this wears off by the time the baby is born cause she is wearing me out!

Well that is a little about my pregnancy and how it all went down:) On Tuesday I was able to see the little nugget squirming and kicking on the ultrasound, it was so fun! I am nervous, but I can't wait to have another member of my family and experience this special time all over again!

  2. Congrats! I am so glad you posted this, I love to hear the stories behind everything. I can't believe it happened after just time not being careful. I am terrified of that possibility because we are not ready for kids just yet. The way you announced it was super cute! I love how creative you are!
